First off, $1500.00 is reasonable. The first time I had a glass setup in the back of my Z, it was 1000.00, and that was through a friends shop. It's hard to believe it's that much, but imagine all the work it takes sanding and prepping. Its a PITA. $2500.00 might be on the high side and a little bit out of reasonable, but if you want, email me an exact quote from him with all the prices, labor, etc broke down and I can give you answers back as to what they should be from a professional shop I know. I don't know if 30-50 hours is accurate though from what you are describing. If you look at my amp rack, which is in the back, it was the easiest part to do. I would say I had about 30 hours in prepping to a perfect baby-ass smoothness. But it is also more elaborate than what you are describing you want. So I hope the 30-50 is for the whole system installed. If so, again, reasonable. As far as the system components, what exactly is the break down on price and model #'s? Any decent shop will quote high to give you room to work down, so don't take first offers. Like I said, if you want, get me a list and I can give you some numbers back that are closer to what you should be paying and give you some insider info to play with. Also, when it's done, let me know. I have gotten in with the senior editors of a couple different mags and I can get you published if you want. Just have a professional digital portfolio that can be sent to them. Oh yea, and for show purposes, stop by the shop daily and snap some pics of the buildup. Judges like to see a "look book" and you gain valuable points for having them. If you have one of your engine/body buildup, that helps too. LaterZ...
